Pakistani TikTok Star Ayesha Gilamana Shot Dead Near Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Aug 17: Pakistani TikTok star Shamsoo Bibi, popularly known as Ayesha Gilamana, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Taxila near Islamabad, while her teenage sister was seriously injured in the attack, according to a police complaint filed by the victim’s father.

The incident took place on August 14 when Bibi, 28, received a phone call from a man identified as Kashif alias “Kashi”, asking her to come outside her house, her father Fazal Sahibzada said in the complaint.

Bibi then left home in a car with her 15-year-old sister Aseema and brother Naimatullah. Shortly afterwards, the family was informed that Bibi had been shot.

According to the complaint, two unidentified men, believed to be aged between 30 and 35, allegedly fired at the vehicle from a motorcycle near a petrol pump. A bullet struck Bibi in the neck, killing her on the spot. The vehicle subsequently went out of control and collided with another car, seriously injuring her sister.

Sahibzada said his daughter had been creating TikTok videos for around three to four years and had amassed nearly 1.3 million followers. Her brother Rehmatullah said the account had more than one million followers and over 30 million likes before the family deactivated it following her death.

The family alleged that Bibi had financial dealings with two individuals, identified as Kausar and Javed alias Shaheen, and had received threats after demanding repayment of money from them. She had also reportedly lodged a complaint against them in Islamabad.

Bibi’s father expressed suspicion that the two men may have been involved in her killing, either directly or through the unidentified attackers, and also alleged the involvement of Kashif alias Kashi.

He urged police to take legal action against the named and unidentified suspects. The family said Naimatullah, who witnessed the attack, could identify the assailants if they were brought before him.

Police have registered a case under Sections 302 (murder), 324 (attempted murder), 109 (abetment) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The investigation into the killing is underway.
