Bhopal, Sep 4: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday said Lord Ram and Lord Krishna have shaped India's identity across the world, noting that both incarnated on earth in human form to rid the world of evil and show people the way to prosperity and happiness.
Addressing a Janmashtami event at his official residence, Yadav said Lord Krishna endured hardships from his birth in prison and later, through his childhood exploits, helped alleviate people's suffering with a smile.
"Lord Krishna taught the world to face difficult circumstances with patience and restraint. He inspired us to overcome hardships and find a way forward," the CM said.
Yadav said Krishna's life also underlined the importance of education, recalling that he learnt 64 arts and 14 branches of knowledge at the ashram of Maharshi Sandipani in Ujjain.
He also highlighted Krishna's friendship with Sudama at the Sandipani Ashram, saying the episode remained relevant across generations.
Earlier, Yadav performed ceremonial worship and 'jalabhishek' of Laddu Gopal, the child form of Lord Krishna.
He also broke a pot filled with butter and sugar crystals and fed butter to children dressed as Radha Rani and Bal Gopal before presenting them gifts.
Yadav extended Janmashtami greetings to the people of Madhya Pradesh.
