Youth Welfare Top Priority, Paper Leak Accused Will Face Swift Justice: Amit Shah

NEW DELHI, July 23: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said ensuring a bright future for the country’s youth remains the Modi government’s highest priority, asserting that strict action against those involved in examination paper leaks reflects this commitment. In a post on X, Shah welcomed the Centre’s decision to establish fast-track courts for expediting trials in paper leak cases, describing the move as a significant step towards protecting students’ interests. “This important step by Prime Minister Narendra Modi against those who toy with the future of the youth due to paper leaks will prove to be a milestone,” Shah said. He added that the government’s resolve to ensure the welfare and bright future of young people was unwavering and that the decision to speed up legal proceedings in paper leak cases underscored that commitment. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the welfare and future of the country’s youth is the government’s top priority and warned that those attempting to jeopardise students’ future through paper leaks would not be spared. “Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth. This is our top priority. Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared,” the Prime Minister said in a message posted on X. Modi also announced that the government has decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure the speedy trial and stringent punishment of those involved in paper leak cases. He said he had directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary measures to tackle the issue. Calling it another step in safeguarding students’ interests, the Prime Minister said the initiative forms part of a series of measures aimed at protecting the integrity of examinations and ensuring justice for affected candidates. The Prime Minister’s remarks came days after student protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and followed his first public comments on the issue earlier this week during a meeting of the NDA Parliamentary Party.
