Udhampur Police attach drug peddler’s assets amounting to Rs 1.4 Cr
Jammu: Udhampur Police has attached movable and immovable properties worth Rs 1.40 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler from Punjab under the NDPS Act as part of its ongoing drive against narcotics trafficking, officials said on Friday.
The action was taken under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in connection with a case registered at Majalta police station, they said.
The attached properties belong to Sharif, a resident of Nawinpind village in Punjab's Amritsar, the police said.
The attached assets include a Swift car, 1 kanal and 8 marlas of land and a newly constructed residential house, they said.
Investigations established that the properties had been acquired from the proceeds of illicit narcotics trafficking, the police said.
