SRINAGAR, Aug 31: Joint security forces busted a suspected terror hideout in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, officials said.
The operation was conducted by the J&K Police, 44 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army and the CRPF at Naikpora Memender following specific intelligence inputs, officials said.
During searches in an orchard area, the security forces located the hideout and recovered one AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines, 60 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, one pistol, one grenade and six rounds of 9 mm ammunition, they said.
Officials said further investigation has been initiated to determine the origin of the recovered weapons and their intended use.
