New Delhi, Aug 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday shared a video showing him feeding cows and peacocks at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence before leaving for the Red Fort to deliver his Independence Day address.
“Feeding my friends every morning is a daily routine. Yesterday morning, they somehow realised I’m leaving early, so they came to meet me as I was leaving for the Red Fort. Special, as always,” Modi wrote in an Instagram post.
The Prime Minister’s cows and peacocks have frequently featured in his social media posts. He is often seen feeding them during his morning routine at his official residence.
The cows include Punganur cattle, a rare dwarf breed native to Andhra Pradesh.
The video captured moments from the morning before Modi’s address to the nation from the Red Fort, where he also hoisted the national flag on the 80th Independence Day.
During his 75-minute address, Modi placed a strong focus on India’s youth, mentioning them more than 50 times and announcing several initiatives, including free online coaching for competitive examinations and AI training for one crore young people.
He also highlighted opportunities for youth in sectors such as manufacturing, space, nuclear energy and semiconductors, besides announcing measures to promote sporting talent and strengthen civil defence.
