Over 4,000 Killed In Human-Wildlife Conflict, UP CM Stresses Public Awareness

Lucknow, Jul 19: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said more than 4,000 people have lost their lives in human-animal conflict over the years and stressed the need for greater public awareness to minimise such incidents. Addressing a programme on wildlife conservation, the Chief Minister said awareness, timely intervention and coordinated efforts between authorities and local communities are essential to reducing casualties caused by encounters between humans and wild animals. He urged citizens to remain vigilant in forest-adjacent areas and support conservation initiatives while ensuring the protection of both human lives and wildlife. The Chief Minister also called for stronger efforts to promote coexistence, emphasising that safeguarding wildlife and preventing avoidable conflicts should remain a shared responsibility of the government and the public.
