Srinagar, Sep 1 : Sujit Kumar IPS, who recently took charge as Kashmir's Inspector General of Police, called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here on Tuesday.
During the meeting at the Civil Secretariat, the chief minister extended his best wishes to the officer for a successful tenure.
Later, the Chief Minister's Office took to social media platform X and posted about the meeting.
"Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Mr Sujit Kumar IPS paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister today at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, following his recent assumption of charge," the CMO posted.
Kumar, a 2007-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, assumed charge as IGP Kashmir on August 27, 2026.
He succeeds V K Birdi, who has proceeded on a Central deputation.
