LG Extends Greetings on Ladakh Declaration Day, Credits PM Modi for Region’s Progress

LEH/JAMMU, Aug 5: Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Wednesday extended greetings to the people of Ladakh on the occasion of Ladakh Declaration Day, saying the Union Territory has witnessed significant progress, peace and strengthened local governance since its formation. Ladakh became a separate Union Territory on August 5, 2019, when the Centre abrogated Article 370 and bifurcated the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir into the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. In his message, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed his warm wishes to the people of Ladakh and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their commitment to fulfilling the long-standing aspirations of the region. He said Ladakh has made notable strides in development, peace and grassroots governance over the past seven years, attributing the progress to the leadership of the Prime Minister. Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to the welfare of the people, Saxena said efforts would continue to take Ladakh to “new heights of progress and prosperity,” according to an official statement.
