Army Commander Visits Ladakh Frontline, Reviews Operational Preparedness
Leh, Jul 19: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited a frontline division in the Ladakh sector, where he reviewed operational preparedness and urged troops to train harder and remain steadfast in meeting future challenges. According to an official statement issued on Sunday, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command, was briefed on the induction of next-generation weapons, adoption of niche technologies and innovative operational procedures aimed at enhancing combat effectiveness. During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma also interacted with participants of the Fire and Fury Corps’ multi-modal white-water rafting and mountain terrain biking expedition, organised ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas, which is observed annually on July 26. The Army Commander appreciated the formation’s operational dynamism and innovative strategies developed to address diverse contingencies in the high-altitude region. Commending the troops for their professionalism, courage and unwavering commitment to duty in the challenging terrain, Lt Gen Sharma urged all ranks to maintain the momentum of excellence, intensify training and remain determined to overcome every operational challenge.
