Leh/Jammu, Sep 18: In a first, Ladakh Director General of Police Anand Jain on Friday issued PSARA licences to three private security agencies to operate in the Union territory.
These agencies can now provide security services to various institutions, organisations and establishments across the Union Territory of Ladakh, a police spokesperson said.
Jain, who is the Controlling Authority under the Private Security Agencies Regulation Act (PSARA), 2005 and the Ladakh Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Rules, 2021, said this step will create employment opportunities in the private security sector and benefit various establishments requiring professional security services.
The DGP advised the licensed agencies to ensure strict compliance with provisions of the PSARA Act, 2005, and the rules, regulations and standards governing private security services.
