NEW DELHI, Sept 20 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the concluding day of the two-day high-level conference on “Financing India’s Journey towards Viksit Bharat” in New Delhi on Friday.
The conference was organised by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and brought together State Finance Ministers and Finance Secretaries from States and Union Territories with legislatures.
The discussions focused on strategies to finance India’s long-term development and economic growth. During the conference, Omar Abdullah highlighted the importance of the deliberations for the future growth of both India and Jammu & Kashmir.
Key areas discussed included developmental financing, agricultural marketing and renewable energy, along with broader strategies for strengthening economic growth.
The conference featured sessions by economists and experts covering the macroeconomic outlook, financing agricultural transformation and funding the energy transition.
The discussions also examined challenges facing the country while exploring opportunities for advancing India’s vision of becoming a Viksit Bharat.
