CM Omar Abdullah Announces ₹6 Lakh Ex Gratia for Families of Poonch Landslide Victims
Srinagar, Jul 21: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday expressed deep grief over the loss of seven lives in the landslide at Domail Dhok in the Nandichool area of Loran, Poonch district, and announced an ex gratia relief of ₹6 lakh for the families of each deceased.
The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. He said the tragic incident had caused immense sorrow and assured the affected families of the government’s full support during this difficult time.
The ex gratia assistance will include ₹4 lakh from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and ₹2 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the next of kin of each victim.
To monitor relief and rehabilitation efforts, the Chief Minister deputed Ministers Javed Ahmed Rana and Satish Sharma to visit the affected areas in Rajouri and Poonch. They will assess the ground situation, oversee ongoing relief operations, and ensure timely assistance reaches the affected families.
