CJP Ends 36-Day Jantar Mantar Protest After Pradhan's Resignation

New Delhi, Jul 25: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday called off its 36-day protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, saying the government had accepted its key demands related to the NEET paper leak issue. The announcement was made during a joint press conference attended by CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka alongside Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh. Addressing the media, the CJP leaders said the organisation was ending its agitation "with immediate effect" in good faith after receiving assurances from the Centre. "Our primary demand has been fulfilled with the resignation of the Union Education Minister. The government has also assured us that cases registered against students will be withdrawn, no punitive action will be taken against them in the future, and families of students who died by suicide in connection with the NEET paper leak will receive compensation as per the applicable rules," Saurav Das said. He urged protesters gathered at Jantar Mantar to return home peacefully. Ashutosh Ranka said the movement had achieved its objectives after 36 days of continuous protests. "Our demands were not radical but basic. The government has accepted all of them, and we appeal to everyone to withdraw peacefully from the protest sites," he said. Following the announcement, Delhi Police personnel used loudspeakers to request demonstrators to vacate Jantar Mantar, stating that the principal demands of the agitation had been addressed. The protest, which began over the alleged NEET paper leak, had drawn support from several student organisations and activists and led to traffic diversions, security restrictions and temporary disruptions around central Delhi, affecting local markets and commuters over the past month.
