Central Information Commission disposed 768 appeals in Aug

New Delhi: The Central Information Commission (CIC) disposed of 768 appeals between August 1 and 12, with the upgrading work currently underway of its second appeals and complaints portal having little impact on the conduct of hearings, the Personnel Ministry said on Thursday.

The upgraded portal is expected to go live on August 17, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said case data automatically updated on the commission's website through the portal is updated till August 1 due to the ongoing upgradation.

A notice about the upgrade was displayed on the CIC website on July 24, it said.

The decisions in the disposed cases are being dispatched by post to the parties, upgrade work notwithstanding, the ministry said.

According to the statement, the upgraded portal will provide RTI applicants and other stakeholders with a more efficient, user-friendly digital interface.

It will also facilitate more efficient updating and availability of case-related information on the commission's website and portal.

The case data is expected to be updated after the upgraded system becomes operational on August 17, the ministry said.
