Patna, Sep 10: Twenty-nine Congress leaders in Bihar were on Thursday slapped with a show-cause notice for staging a dharna in front of the party's headquarters in Delhi earlier this week.
According to Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee media cell head Rajesh Rathore, the notice has been issued by Disciplinary Committee chairman Kapil Dev Prasad Yadav, who has sought "a written reply within 72 hours".
Those who received the notice include former MLAs Anil Singh and Punam Devi, besides a number of former district unit chiefs, who had staged a demonstration in front of Indira Bhavan on Monday.
They were demanding the removal of BPCC president Rajesh Ram and AICC in-charge for Bihar Krishna Allavaru, whom they blamed for the party's "inability" to revive itself in the state.
However, in the show-cause notice, they have been told that they had acted "in violation of the party's principles and discipline".
