Two Killed, Three Injured as Boulder Falls on Tempo on Jammu-Srinagar Highway in Ramban
RAMBAN, July 22: Two persons were killed and three others injured after a huge boulder fell on a moving tempo on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Gangroo area of Ramban district on Tuesday. ts Officials said the tempo, bearing registration number JK06B-9842, was travelling from Srinagar to Doda when the accident occurred. A massive boulder rolled down from the hillside and hit the vehicle, causing severe damage. Two passengers died on the spot, while three others sustained injuries. All the victims are reportedly residents of Kastigarh area of Doda district. Following the incident, police teams, rescue personnel, and local authorities reached the spot and shifted the injured along with the bodies of the deceased to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Ramsoo for treatment and legal formalities. The damaged tempo was removed from the highway, and efforts were launched to clear the debris and restore traffic movement. Police have taken cognizance of the incident, while the identities of the deceased and injured are yet to be officially confirmed. Further details are awaited.
