HAMILTON, November 1: India clinched the five-match T20 International series 3-2 despite suffering a seven-wicket defeat against New Zealand in the final match on Sunday.
Batting first, India posted 191/8 in 20 overs, powered by impressive half-centuries from Ishan Kishan and captain Shreyas Iyer. Kishan smashed 61 off just 32 deliveries, while Iyer contributed a quickfire 50 off 23 balls.
However, New Zealand pacer Adam Milne dismantled the Indian batting line-up with an impressive spell of 4 wickets for 19 runs, helping the hosts restrict India to a manageable total.
In reply, New Zealand chased down the target comfortably, reaching 192/2 in just 17.1 overs.
Opener Tim Seifert led the charge with a magnificent 93, providing a strong foundation for the chase. Glenn Phillips further strengthened New Zealand’s position with an unbeaten 65 off 38 deliveries, guiding his team to a convincing victory.
Despite the defeat in the final encounter, India secured the series 3-2, having won the first three matches before New Zealand fought back in the remaining games.
