Samba, Sept 19 : Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Anuj Kumar, IPS, accompanied by Additional SP Samba, DySP Headquarters Samba and DySP SOG Samba, conducted a comprehensive security review of Border Police Posts (BPPs) at Mawa, Babber Nallah and Lalechak.
During the inspection, SSP Samba interacted with police personnel deployed at the border posts and reviewed their preparedness, deployment and functioning under the Border Protection Grid.
He briefed the personnel on their responsibilities and stressed the need for a high level of alertness and vigilance, particularly in view of the strategic importance of the border areas.
The SSP also emphasised stronger coordination and regular interaction with Village Defence Guards (VDGs), directing personnel to effectively utilise them as force multipliers to strengthen the security network and improve the flow of information from border villages.
He directed personnel to ensure constant vigilance by sentries, conduct regular firing and weapon-handling practices, strengthen naka checking and intensify night patrolling to detect suspicious activities and prevent untoward incidents.
The SSP further stressed the importance of close coordination with other security agencies and the prompt sharing of actionable intelligence.
Concluding the visit, SSP Samba directed all personnel to maintain operational readiness, vigilance and professionalism while performing their duties.
He reiterated that the security of border areas remains a priority and directed officers and personnel to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of residents in these areas.
