JAMMU: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, on Sunday chaired a comprehensive Crime Review Meeting at District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu to review the prevailing crime situation and assess the progress of investigations and preventive policing measures across the district.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including Zonal SPs, SDPOs and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, SSP Jammu reviewed the status of registered criminal cases, pending investigations, detection of unsolved cases, conviction rate, preventive measures and action against habitual and repeat offenders. The progress of investigations in important and sensitive cases was also discussed in detail.
SSP Jammu directed all officers to maintain professionalism, accountability and close supervision of investigations, ensuring that cases are investigated thoroughly and within the prescribed timelines. He stressed the need for effective preventive policing and stronger action against habitual offenders and those involved in drug trafficking, illegal activities and other forms of organised crime.
The SSP further directed officers to strengthen police-public interaction, beat policing and field-level intelligence, while ensuring prompt response to public grievances and maintaining a visible police presence across the district.
The meeting concluded with clear directions to all concerned officers to remain vigilant, improve policing outcomes and ensure effective, transparent and people-centric policing across Jammu district.
