SSG Road Reopened After Landslides Cleared, Stranded Vehicles Evacuated

GANDERBAL, Aug 14: The Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri (SSG) Road has been reopened to traffic after landslides at Zojila, Ranga Mod, Minamarg and several other locations were cleared, officials said.

The affected stretches were cleared overnight through coordinated efforts by the Traffic Police, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and local police, restoring connectivity along the route.

Officials said all vehicles stranded due to the landslides were safely evacuated, and traffic movement has resumed.

Authorities said vehicles will be allowed to proceed in accordance with the prescribed traffic advisory after the required clearance and green signal are issued.

Motorists have been advised to follow traffic advisories and directions issued by the authorities and exercise caution while travelling through vulnerable stretches of the SSG Road.
