SRINAGAR: Srinagar Police has attached an immovable property worth approximately ₹4 crore in Budgam district under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, in a major action against alleged drug trafficking.
The action was carried out by Police Station Khanyar in connection with FIR No. 04/2026, registered under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act against Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hussain Dar, a resident of Ichgam, Budgam.
According to police, the attached property comprises a two-storeyed residential house with an attic structure and 5 Kanals and 17 Marlas of land. The property, bearing Khasra Nos. 415/416, is located at Ichgam and has an estimated market value of around ₹4 crore.
Police said the property was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act after it was identified as an allegedly illegally acquired asset linked to proceeds generated through narcotic drug trafficking.
The latest action is part of Srinagar Police’s broader strategy to target the financial networks supporting the illegal drug trade. Besides arresting and prosecuting individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking, police are also tracing and attaching properties and other assets suspected to have been acquired through illicit proceeds.
Officials said such measures are aimed at weakening the financial backbone of drug trafficking networks by depriving alleged traffickers of assets and resources used to sustain their illegal activities.
Srinagar Police said its campaign against drug trafficking and substance abuse would continue, with strict enforcement measures against alleged drug peddlers, their associates and properties suspected to have been acquired through proceeds of narcotics.
Police reiterated its commitment to strengthening efforts to curb the illegal drug trade and dismantle the networks involved in it.
