SRINAGAR, Aug 22: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has suspended Junior Building Inspector Gazala Akhter following her arrest by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with a corruption case.
Akhter was arrested by the ACB on August 20 under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
According to an order issued by the SMC Commissioner, Akhter, who was posted in Ward No. 28, will be deemed suspended from the date of her arrest.
During the suspension, she has been attached to the office of the Joint Commissioner (Sanitation) and will be entitled to 50 per cent of her salary as subsistence allowance in accordance with applicable service rules.
