Second Suspected Pakistani Drone Recovered in Samba Within a Week
Jammu, July 19: Security forces recovered another suspected Pakistani drone from Jammu and Kashmir’s border district of Samba, marking the second such seizure in the area within a week, officials said on Sunday.
The drone was recovered by troops of the Territorial Army from the Sangar fields in the Purmandal area late on Saturday night. The recovery has prompted security agencies to intensify surveillance and launch a detailed investigation amid continued efforts to foil cross-border smuggling and infiltration attempts.
Officials said the drone has been sent for forensic examination to ascertain its origin, technical specifications, and whether it was used for any cross-border activity.
Earlier, on July 14, another suspected drone was recovered from an open field near Devak village in Samba district. The repeated recoveries have heightened security concerns along the International Border, with agencies maintaining a high state of alert.
