CHANDIGARH, Sept 20: Punjab Police have busted an alleged cross-border heroin smuggling network in Faridkot and arrested four people, recovering 47.3 kg of heroin, arms and ammunition, officials said on Sunday.
Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav said the Faridkot Police operation resulted in the seizure of three pistols, three magazines, 15 cartridges and two vehicles, besides the contraband.
According to the police, the investigation has revealed that the arrested suspects were allegedly linked to a network involved in the cross-border smuggling of heroin and illegal weapons into Punjab.
A case has been registered at Sadiq Police Station in Faridkot.
Police said further investigation is underway to identify other members of the network and establish its forward and backward linkages
