Pathania calls for Accidental Hospital at Manwal, Trauma Centres at Tikri
Tikri/Majalta, July 11: MLA Udhampur East Ranbir Singh Pathania today chaired separate review meetings (Rogi Kalyan Samitis) at Tikri and Majalta to assess healthcare infrastructure, review the implementation of various health programmes, and discuss measures for strengthening medical services across the region. Laying special emphasis on emergency healthcare, Pathania called for expediting the construction of the Trauma Centres at Manwal and Tikri. He said both locations are Medical Block Headquarters and the proposed facilities are crucial for providing timely emergency and trauma care to the people of the area, particularly along the National Highway and adjoining rural belts. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe. The MLA also underlined the administrative significance of Majalta, stating that it is an independent tehsil with Primary Health Centres at Mansar, Thial and Khoon under its jurisdiction. He stressed the need to further strengthen healthcare infrastructure and service delivery in these institutions to ensure accessible and quality healthcare for the people. Reviewing the implementation of the TB Mukt Bharat campaign, Pathania directed health officials to intensify awareness, screening and treatment efforts. He said the campaign requires coordinated action and urged officials to take proactive measures to achieve the objectives of a tuberculosis-free India. He also dedicated an ambulance for PHC Mansar on the occasion amongst thundering applause and appreciation of local people. Highlighting the importance of community participation, Pathania called for greater involvement of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), local representatives and the public in health awareness campaigns and preventive healthcare initiatives. He said collective efforts are essential for the successful implementation of government health programmes. The meetings were attended by Block Medical Officers of Tikri, Chenani, Ramnagar and Majalta, who briefed the MLA on healthcare facilities, manpower availability, infrastructure requirements and the progress of various health schemes in their respective blocks. Representatives of the Public Health Engineering (PHE), Education, Power Development Department (PDD), Health Department and other line departments also participated in the meetings and deliberated on improving inter-departmental coordination to enhance healthcare delivery across the region. Reaffirming his commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector in Udhampur East, Pathania said the government is working to upgrade medical infrastructure, improve access to quality healthcare and ensure that development projects are completed in a time-bound manner for the benefit of the people.
