Over 18 Lakh Public Grievances Filed Against Central Govt Departments In 2025-26: Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, Aug 12 : More than 18.33 lakh public grievances were received against central government departments during 2025-26, the Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

Of the total of 18,33,972 such grievances against central government ministries/ departments, 18,12,923 were disposed of, Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said in a written reply.

A total of 16,73,645 and 17,37,599 public grievances were received pertaining to central government ministries and departments during 2024-25 and 2023-24, respectively, he said.

These grievances were received through the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) — that allows online filing of such complaints, the minister said.

The government has undertaken several measures to strengthen the CPGRAMS, Singh said.

Major reforms include adoption of next-generation technologies to enhance system capabilities, operationalisation of the feedback call centre, availability of CPGRAMS through the mobile application and Common Service Centres (CSCs), reduction of prescribed grievance disposal timeline from 30 days to 21 days, and launch of ‘Samadhan Didi’, an AI-powered multilingual voice-first chatbot for grievance registration, he said.
