Banned Chinese Manjha Recovered; Two Arrested
New Delhi, Aug 3 : Two persons have been arrested, and 37 reels of banned kite string, Chinese manjha, have been seized from their possession in northeast Delhi, police said on Monday. The action was initiated after a police patrol team found a man allegedly selling the banned Chinese manjha from a shop in the Nehru Vihar area on August 1, they said. The accused, Mohammad Rihan (23), was apprehended and six reels of Chinese manjha were recovered from his shop during a search, a police officer said. Based on his disclosure, police traced another accused, Deepak (28), to a shop in Loni in Ghaziabad, where 31 more reels of the banned manjha were recovered and seized, he said. An FIR has been registered, and during questioning, Deepak told police that he had procured the Chinese manjha from a supplier in Murad Nagar in Uttar Pradesh. Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest the alleged supplier.
