NSA Doval Holds Talks With Saudi FM On Energy Security, Regional Stability
New Delhi, Jul 21: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan in Riyadh to discuss strengthening bilateral strategic ties, enhancing energy security, and protecting key maritime corridors amid escalating tensions in West Asia. The meeting, held during Doval’s third visit to Saudi Arabia this year, focused on regional developments, safeguarding global shipping routes, and expanding India-Saudi strategic cooperation. The talks come as concerns grow over disruptions to energy supplies and maritime traffic due to the ongoing US-Iran conflict and threats by Yemen’s Houthi rebels. India and Saudi Arabia also reaffirmed their strong partnership in energy, trade and security. With nearly 2.6 million Indians residing in the Kingdom and Saudi Arabia being one of India’s leading crude oil suppliers, New Delhi continues to intensify diplomatic engagement to ensure energy security, protect vital sea lanes and safeguard Indian nationals in the region.
