NC-PDP trying to mislead people on Article 370: Pathania

Udhampur: Senior BJP leader and MLA Udhampur East, Mr, has strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) and PDP for what he termed as their continued attempts to mislead the people on the issue of Article 370. He said that these parties, which ruled Jammu & Kashmir for decades, are now trying to revive a narrative that has already been rejected by the people.

Pathania said that Article 370 and Article 35A had become symbols of corruption, dynastic politics, nepotism and discrimination, benefiting only a handful of influential families while depriving the common people of their rightful opportunities. He asserted that after the abrogation of these provisions, Jammu & Kashmir has witnessed a new era of peace, security, transparency and accelerated development under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

He said that the present dispensation has ensured strict action against corruption, strengthened democratic institutions and created an atmosphere conducive to investment, employment and infrastructure development. "The people of Jammu & Kashmir are today experiencing the benefits of good governance, and they will not be misled by the politics of deception and division," he remarked.

Pathania further stated that those trying to exploit sensitive issues for political gains are attempting to divert public attention from their own failures. He urged political parties to engage in constructive politics rather than creating confusion and misleading the masses.

Referring to the recent spell of heavy rains that caused damage to roads, public infrastructure and electricity networks, Pathania said that in his area, he has initiated restoration works on a priority basis. He assured the public that all damaged roads, power supply lines and other essential infrastructure would be restored at the earliest and that deserving cases would be covered under the applicable relief norms.

The MLA also emphasized that BJP remains committed to the vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas", ensuring inclusive development across every village and town. He said that the Government is working tirelessly to improve connectivity, strengthen infrastructure, expand welfare schemes and provide transparent, accountable governance.

Appealing to the people to reject divisive politics, Pathania said that the tricolour, the Constitution of India and democratic values must remain paramount. "The people are wise enough to distinguish between development-oriented politics and politics based on falsehood and propaganda. The future of Jammu & Kashmir lies in peace, progress and inclusive development," he said.

The statement was endorsed by several senior BJP leaders, Panchayat representatives, social activists and local workers, who reiterated their commitment to strengthening the party's development agenda and taking the Government's welfare initiatives to every household.

Among those who remained present on the occassion included Mohinder Sharma, Mohan Lal Sharma (Mandal Pradhans), Capt Gopal Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Shiv Ram, Nimarta Bali, Neelam, Sushma, SunitavDevi, Master Sitaram, Shakti Singh, Lochan Singh, Charan Das, Balkar Singh and a galaxy of local people.
