Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan’: Awareness Rally Held In Srinagar Against Drug Abuse
Srinagar, Jul 14 : Students and government employees on Tuesday carried out an anti-drug abuse rally here as part of the 100-day ‘Nasha Muqt J-K Abhiyaan’. The rally was organised by the All Sikh Minority Employees Association Jammu and Kashmir. Participants carried placards reading “Say no to drugs, say yes to dreams” and “No drugs”, and raised slogans including “Say no to drugs, say yes to life”. Speaking to reporters, association chairperson, Jagmeet Kaur Bali, said the rally was taken out under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s 100-day ‘Nasha Muqt J-K Abhiyaan’. “We want to send a strong message that we have to make our society drug-free. We have held this campaign in all districts of the valley, and now after Srinagar, we will move to Jammu and hold such rallies in every district there,” Bali said. She claimed there has been a considerable impact of the LG-led campaign and that drug abuse had declined in the Union Territory. “We have seen there is a decrease in drug abuse since the campaign began. The campaign has created fear among the peddlers,” she added.
