LG Sinha Lays Foundation Stone for Heritage Initiatives at Ramakrishna Ashram in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, Aug 17: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday visited the Shri Ramakrishna Mahasammelan Ashram in Anantnag and laid the foundation stone for a series of initiatives aimed at promoting cultural preservation, heritage conservation and spiritual values.

During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor emphasised the importance of safeguarding Jammu and Kashmir’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy and appreciated efforts to promote the values of service, unity, compassion and harmony.

Sinha said the region’s diverse traditions and long-standing ethos of peaceful coexistence are an integral part of its cultural identity.

Addressing the gathering, he said the timeless teachings of Sanatana traditions continue to provide valuable guidance in building a society based on compassion, mutual respect and service to humanity.

The Lieutenant Governor stressed that heritage preservation extends beyond protecting monuments and historical structures and also involves safeguarding traditions, values and cultural consciousness passed down through generations.

He called for collective efforts by communities, institutions and civil society organisations to preserve Jammu and Kashmir’s unique cultural identity and strengthen social harmony.

“May the timeless values of service, unity and Sanatana traditions continue to guide our path towards harmony and compassion,” Sinha said.

The initiatives for which the foundation stone was laid are expected to provide further impetus to the preservation and promotion of the area’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

The event was attended by members of the ashram, religious and social representatives, government officials and local residents.
