JKPSC Submits 67th Annual Report to LG Manoj Sinha, Highlights Recruitment Reforms and 1,152 Selections

Srinagar, Aug 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on Saturday submitted its 67th Annual Report for the year 2025-26 to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhavan, Srinagar, in compliance with Article 323(2) of the Constitution of India. The report was presented by JKPSC Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary, accompanied by Commission Members Dr. Rajiv Singh and Asaf Mehmood Sagar, and Secretary Bashir Ahmad Dar. The report highlights major administrative reforms, faster recruitment processes, and enhanced transparency in the Commission’s functioning during 2025-26. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha commended the JKPSC for maintaining fairness, integrity, and meritocracy while accelerating the recruitment process. Briefing the Lieutenant Governor, Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary outlined several structural and technological initiatives undertaken to improve efficiency, including the adoption of a 100 per cent written examination-based recruitment system and the introduction of On-Screen Evaluation (OSE) to ensure error-free and timely assessment of answer scripts. The Commission also introduced SMS-based notifications to keep candidates informed about examinations and interviews. According to the report, JKPSC made 1,152 selections against 1,263 referred posts during the year. These included appointments to the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS), Jammu and Kashmir Accounts Service (JKAS Accounts), 39 Junior Judge posts in the subordinate judiciary, faculty positions in medical and degree colleges, and several gazetted posts across government departments. The Commission also conducted 29 Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings, clearing 508 officers for promotion, and approved recruitment rules for two departments. A total of 94,546 applications were received for the advertised posts. The Commission conducted 52 written and preliminary examinations, two mains examinations, and three departmental examinations, in which 813 candidates appeared. The annual report also details the Commission’s constitutional responsibilities, recruitment achievements, promotion proceedings, and rule-making initiatives aimed at strengthening public service recruitment in Jammu and Kashmir.
