J&K Police Conduct Raids Across Five Valley Districts Over Suspected Terror Links

SRINAGAR, Aug 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Counter-Intelligence wing on Saturday conducted searches at multiple locations across five districts of the Valley as part of a crackdown on suspected terror-related activities, online misuse and alleged radicalisation networks.

According to officials, the searches were carried out in Kupwara, Baramulla, Anantnag, Shopian and Bandipora in connection with FIR No. 03/2023, registered at Police Station CIK, Srinagar.

The case has been registered under Sections 505 and 153-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

During the searches, security personnel recovered and seized several electronic devices and other material suspected to be relevant to the investigation, officials said.

The seized devices and material will be subjected to forensic examination, which is expected to help investigators establish further links and gather evidence related to the case.

Officials said the searches form part of ongoing efforts by the security agencies to identify and dismantle networks allegedly involved in promoting extremist activities, online radicalisation and other terror-related activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
