J&K Govt Sanctions ₹10.95 Crore for Restoration of Ziyarat Sharief, Shiv Mandir in Anantnag

SRINAGAR, Aug 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved projects worth ₹10.95 crore for the restoration, renovation and infrastructure upgradation of two prominent religious sites in Anantnag district. According to an official statement, ₹5.03 crore has been sanctioned for the restoration and renovation of Ziyarat Sharief Khiram, while ₹5.92 crore has been approved for the repair and renovation of Shiv Mandir at Thajiwara, Bijbehara. The projects are aimed at preserving the heritage, architectural character and sanctity of the two revered sites while improving facilities for devotees and visitors. The approvals are part of the Omar Abdullah-led government’s ongoing initiative to conserve Jammu and Kashmir’s religious and cultural heritage through restoration, preservation and infrastructure development. The government said the efforts are intended to protect the region’s rich spiritual and historical legacy while enhancing public amenities for future generations. In recent months, the government has also approved restoration and conservation projects for several heritage sites, including Purmandal in Samba, Imambara Zadibal in Srinagar, Khoo Sahib at Yarwan in Pulwama, Jamia Masjid Sharief in Shopian and Sarvadhar Chaumanda Mata Mandir in Ramban.
