Jammu: Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, on his 8th death anniversary by organizing commemorative programmes at various places across the Union Territory.

J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, accompanied by J&K BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul and other senior leaders, remembered Vajpayee ji with fond recollections and offered floral tributes at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

J&K BJP Vice-Presidents Priya Sethi, Rajiv Charak, and Rekha Mahajan, General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria, and Gopal Mahajan, MLA Shagun Parihar, Secretaries Reema Padha, Arun Sharma, and Pawan Sharma, Treasurer Prabhat Singh Jamwal, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Arun Parbhat, Brahmjyot, Adv. Neha Mahajan, Adv. Rajesh Gupta, Naresh Singh Jasrotia, besides many other prominent leaders of the party, were present on the occasion.

Sat Sharma, paying floral tributes, described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a towering statesman who earned admiration across party lines. He said that Vajpayee ji truly embodied the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. He recalled that after the martyrdom of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Vajpayee ji led a nationwide agitation for Jammu & Kashmir, keeping the nationalist spirit alive. Even when BJP was reduced to just two MPs in Parliament, Vajpayee ji had confidently predicted that Congress, owing to its misdeeds, would one day be erased from Indian politics. He also highlighted that Vajpayee ji had the honour of delivering the first Hindi speech at the United Nations, a testimony to his flawless statesmanship.

Ashok Koul said that Atal ji was not only a political stalwart but also a guiding light for every activist of the BJP. He stressed that Vajpayee ji’s politics was rooted in values, ethics, and dedication to the nation. “Atal ji taught us that politics is not just about power, but about serving the people with honesty and humility,” Koul said, adding that the former Prime Minister’s simplicity, vision, and poetic soul continue to inspire generations.

Similar programmes were organized at numerous other places across Jammu & Kashmir, where BJP leaders and workers paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister and recalled his unparalleled contributions to the nation, society, and the party.
