Israeli National Arrested Over Murder of Indian Man in Jerusalem
Jerusalem, Jul 24: A 31-year-old Israeli national has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a 40-year-old Indian man whose body was found inside an apartment in Jerusalem’s Katamon neighbourhood, police said.
According to Israeli police, officers from the Moria Police Station responded to the scene after receiving reports of a man lying in a pool of blood inside a residence. Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident is suspected to be criminal in nature.
The suspect, a resident of Eilat, was identified and arrested shortly after the discovery of the body. He has been taken into custody for questioning, while the victim’s identity has not yet been disclosed.
Jerusalem District Commander Avshalom Peled visited the scene and directed the Jerusalem District Central Unit (YAMAR) to continue the investigation.
Chief Superintendent Yuval Reuven, Commander of the Moria Police Station, said police quickly secured the crime scene and launched an investigation that led to the swift arrest of the suspect.
Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
