Iltija Mufti Summoned Over Alleged Assault on Police Officer During Article 370 Protest

SRINAGAR: People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti has been summoned by police to join an investigation into the alleged assault of a police officer during her party's protest against the abrogation of Article 370 earlier this week, officials said on Thursday. According to officials, Mufti has been asked to appear before the investigating authorities in connection with the incident that allegedly took place during the protest held two days ago. Police alleged that Mufti physically assaulted a police officer while he was performing his official duties. Officials further claimed that she grabbed the officer and bit his forearm, causing a bleeding injury. The alleged incident is under investigation, police said.
