Fresh Advisory Issued for Amarnath Yatra 2026, Pilgrims Urged to Follow Registration and Safety Norms
SRINAGAR, JULY 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) on Wednesday issued a fresh advisory for pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, urging devotees to strictly follow registration procedures and safety guidelines for a smooth and secure pilgrimage. The advisory stated that daily limits on the number of pilgrims will remain in place as per the directions of the Supreme Court. Devotees have been advised to complete advance registration before arriving in Jammu and Kashmir and undertake the yatra only on the date mentioned in their registration permit. Authorities clarified that Tatkal or on-the-spot registration facilities will be available only in limited numbers and will depend on availability. Pilgrims without confirmed registration have been requested not to proceed towards the yatra routes and wait for their allotted travel dates. The administration further stated that registered pilgrims will not be permitted to travel before their scheduled dates, and arriving early will not allow them to access the holy cave shrine ahead of time. Unregistered pilgrims already present in Jammu and Kashmir have also been asked to cooperate with authorities and await further instructions. Reiterating its commitment to ensuring a safe and organised pilgrimage, the administration said every registered devotee will get an opportunity to undertake the yatra as per the prescribed procedure and daily capacity limits. Pilgrims have been urged to maintain discipline, cooperate with officials deployed along the routes, and strictly follow all safety protocols. The DIPR said public cooperation is crucial for ensuring a peaceful, secure and spiritually fulfilling Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.
