JAMMU, Sept 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has invited offline applications for allocation of four MBBS seats under the Central Pool for spouses and children of civilian victims of terrorism for the academic session 2026-27.
As per the notification, one seat each has been earmarked at A.N. Magadh Medical College, Gaya, Bihar, and Grant Medical College, Mumbai, Maharashtra, while two seats have been allocated at Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Applicants must be permanent residents of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and should be either the spouse or child of a civilian victim who was killed or disabled in a terrorist incident.
The candidate must have attained 17 years of age by the time of admission or should complete the required age on or before December 31 of the year of admission.
As per National Medical Commission (NMC) norms, candidates must have individually passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with the prescribed marks for the relevant category. They must also meet the required qualifying percentile in NEET UG 2026.
Selection will be based on the candidate’s rank in NEET UG 2026 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Ministry of Home Affairs will not conduct any separate examination for the seats.
BOPEE clarified that submission of an application does not guarantee selection. The final allocation will be made by the concerned Ministry in accordance with the applicable rules. The reservation policy of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir will also apply to the Central Pool MBBS seats.
Under the prescribed priority criteria, preference will first be given to children whose both parents were killed by terrorists. The second priority will be given to children of families where the sole breadwinner was killed by terrorists, followed by wards of victims who suffered permanent disability or serious injuries in terrorist incidents.
The benefit under Priority I and Priority II will be restricted to only one ward of a family.
Applicants are required to submit documents including the Domicile Certificate, NEET Score Card, Class 12 marks certificate, Date of Birth Certificate and Category Certificate, wherever applicable.
Additional documents required under the respective priority categories include FIR, Death Certificate, Postmortem Report and an affidavit stating that no other family member has availed the benefit under the category.
For Priority II, a certificate confirming that the deceased was the sole breadwinner is required from the concerned SHO and hospital, duly countersigned by the SSP and Tehsildar and authenticated by the Administrative Secretary, Home Department.
For Priority III, applicants must submit a certificate confirming the nature of injury and disability, authenticated by the State Police or Home Department.
The last date for submission of applications in duplicate is September 15, 2026, up to 4 PM. Applications are to be submitted physically at the BOPEE offices in Jammu or Srinagar.
