Drug Disposal Committee destroys contraband worth over Rs 150 Cr
JAMMU: Under the ongoing drug destruction Pakhwada and in compliance to the PHQ J&K Order and the directions of the Hon’ble Special NDPS Court, Jammu, the High-Level Drug Disposal Committee of J&K, headed by IG-P crime Sarah Rizvi IPS,disposed of seized narcotic substances pertaining to NDPS cases of DRI Jammu, Police Station Nowshera, and ANTF Jammu. The contraband destroyed included – Heroin: 31.291 kg, Opium: 131.8 grams and CBCS: 590 litres The total estimated value of the destroyed contraband is more than ₹150 crore in international market. The destruction was carried out through scientific incineration at M/S Anmol Health Care, Rakh Rara, Vijaypur, Samba, following all prescribed legal procedures and environmental safety norms. The entire destruction process was conducted under the supervision of the IGP, Crime Branch J&K, in presence of the concerned Range DIGs and District SSPs, who are members of the High-Level Drug Disposal Committee. The proceedings were coordinated by Anwar Ul Haq SSP ANTF J&K. The destruction of such a large quantity of narcotic substances reflects the unwavering commitment of the law enforcement agencies of Jammu & Kashmir towards the eradication of drug trafficking and the effective implementation of the provisions of the NDPS Act
