Srinagar, Aug 19: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Wednesday conducted an operational review of Temporary Operating Bases (TOBs) established along the northern face of the Pir Panjal range, officials said.

The DGP was accompanied by Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, VK Birdi, along with Rajiv Pandey, Hariprasad KK, SSP Budgam and other senior police officers.

During the visit, the senior officers assessed the operational preparedness, deployment arrangements and security measures at the TOBs located in the strategically important region.

The review focused on strengthening field-level coordination, enhancing operational readiness and assessing the security mechanisms in place to address challenges arising from the difficult terrain and remote deployment locations.

Prabhat also interacted with officers and personnel stationed at the bases and took stock of their operational requirements, deployment conditions and preparedness to respond to emerging security challenges.

He reviewed measures aimed at maintaining sustained vigilance and ensuring effective coordination among personnel operating in the area.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies to strengthen their presence and operational capabilities in vulnerable and strategically significant areas of the Union Territory.

The DGP's assessment also underlined the importance of maintaining a high level of readiness among field formations and ensuring that personnel deployed in challenging terrain have the necessary support and resources to carry out their duties effectively
