Bodies of Two Nepalese Women Found Hanging from Tree in Bengaluru
Bengaluru, Aug. 6 : Two young women from Nepal were found hanging from the same tree in an open area near Jakkur in north Bengaluru on Thursday morning, police said. Police have launched an investigation to ascertain whether the deaths were a case of suicide or involved foul play. According to police, the deceased have been identified as Srijana, 22, and Rita, 23, both natives of Nepal. Their bodies were found hanging from opposite ends of the same saree tied to a tree after locals alerted the police. A spot inspection was carried out by the police after the bodies were discovered The bodies were shifted to the Yelahanka Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. Preliminary findings suggest the two women may have died during the night, police said, adding that investigators have not reached any conclusion on the cause of death and are probing all possible angles. Police are verifying when the women arrived in Bengaluru, the nature of their employment, their recent movements and contacts, and the circumstances that led to their deaths.
