Army celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas at Akhnoor

JAMMU: Troops of the Indian Army, commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas with great reverence and patriotism, honouring the valour and supreme sacrifice of the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War. The event witnessed the presence of 30 veterans of Kargil War including a veer nari and 20 NCC cadets from Army Public School (APS) Rakhmuthi, who were  present to pay solemn tribute to the Nation's heroes. As part of the event, a weapon and equipment display was organised, showcasing the range of new generation weapon systems. The display provided the attendees, particularly the NCC cadets and youth, with valuable insights into the capabilities of the Indian Army and fostered respect and pride towards Nation's Defence forces. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all attendees, who expressed deep respect for the sacrifices made by Kargil war heroes and the veterans themselves being participant of war, shared their real life experiences. The commemoration reaffirmed the Indian Army's unwavering commitment to preserving the legacy of its brave hearts, inspiring the youth with the values of courage, selfless service and national pride, while strengthening the bond between the Army and the local community.
