ADC visits cloudburst hit areas in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JULY 12: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), (CEO DDMA), Anantnag, Vikas Ahlawat, today visited Awoora and other cloudburst affected areas in Sallar, Pahalgam. The purpose of the visit was to assess the extent of damage caused by the incident and expedite the restoration efforts being undertaken by various departments. The ADC was accompanied by Tehsildar Sallar besides officers and engineers from Jal Shakti, R&B, PDD and other concerned departments. During the visit, the ADC conducted an on-site inspection of the affected area, reviewed the damage to critical infrastructure, public amenities and nearby localities, and took stock of the overall situation. He directed the concerned departments to expedite the ongoing restoration and relief measures, clear debris, and restore essential services on a priority basis. Ahlawat also interacted with local residents and instructed the concerned officials to provide all possible assistance to the affected families. He emphasized close coordination among all line departments for prompt restoration of essential services like water, road connectivity and electricity so to minimise inconvenience to the public. Notably the men and machinery of Jal Shakti, R&B, Power Development and other departments are on ground zero and the district administration has pressed into action for an early restoration of essential services in the affected areas.
