India Storm Into Women’s T20 Asia Cup Final With 40-Run Win Over Bangladesh

Dubai, Sep 11: India stormed into the final of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup with a convincing 40-run victory over Bangladesh here on Thursday, riding on a blazing half-century from Shafali Verma and another impressive bowling display by Deepti Sharma.

Shafali smashed 64 off 40 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, to help India post a competitive 149 for six on a slow wicket.

In reply, Bangladesh struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack and managed 109 for seven in their 20 overs. Deepti once again led the attack, claiming three wickets for 26 runs, while Nandani Sharma chipped in with two for 10.

Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 24 as India finished strongly after Shafali’s aggressive knock gave the team momentum.

Brief Scores: India 149/6 in 20 overs (Shafali Verma 64, Harmanpreet Kaur 24 not out; Sultana Khatun 2/30) beat Bangladesh 109/7 in 20 overs (Dilara Akter 21, Shorna Akter 22 not out; Deepti Sharma 3/26, Nandani Sharma 2/10) by 40 runs.
