Ferozepur District Court Receives Bomb Threat Email

Ferozepur (Punjab), Sep 12: The District Court complex in Ferozepur received a bomb threat email on Saturday, prompting police to evacuate the premises and suspend public entry as security agencies carried out an extensive search.

The threat was received on a day when the National Lok Adalat was scheduled to be held at the complex. Court proceedings remained suspended until 11.30 am amid the security checks.

Superintendent of Police Dalbir Singh, along with senior police officials, reached the spot soon after the threat was received. A dog squad and bomb disposal teams were deployed to conduct searches across the complex.

Police teams checked rooms, offices, corridors and other areas but found nothing suspicious, the SP said.

Singh said the threat was being taken seriously and all aspects were being investigated. Technical teams were also working to trace the sender of the threatening email.

This was the fifth bomb threat received by the court complex in about nine months. Similar emails were reported on January 8, April 6, August 12 and August 26.
