Agartala, Aug 19: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday paid tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, regarded as the architect of modern Tripura, on his 118th birth anniversary.
"Tributes to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur Ji, the visionary ruler and architect of modern Tripura, on his birth anniversary," Nabin said in a Facebook post.
"Through his far-sighted leadership, he laid a strong foundation for education, infrastructure and good governance, shaping the future of Tripura with a vision that continues to inspire generations," he said.
His unwavering commitment to public welfare and nation-building remains a guiding inspiration for service and inclusive development, Nabin said.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and Tipra Motha Party (TMP) supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma also paid tribute to the Maharaja.
"I paid my humble tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the architect of modern Tripura, by offering floral tributes at his portrait at Zero Point in Agartala on the occasion of his 118th birth anniversary", the CM wrote on Facebook.
Saha added, "His contributions, ideals and people-centric vision will always remain etched in our memories. Inspired by his vision and following the path he showed us, we are moving forward with the goal of building a developed and prosperous Tripura".
In a social media post, royal scion Debbarma said, "On the 118th birth anniversary of my beloved grandfather, Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, I pay my heartfelt tribute and bow in deep reverence to his memory".
"I carry his blood, but more importantly, I carry his unyielding resolve. We will not rest until the dignity, land, and future of our people are permanently secured. His dream for our people remains my life's ultimate purpose", he stated.
