NEW DELHI: The BJP on Monday appointed academic and chemistry professor Deepak Mhaskey as the new head of its social media department, replacing Amit Malviya, who had led the party's digital outreach for 11 years.
Mhaskey, a chemistry professor from Chhattisgarh, is among several leaders given new organisational responsibilities as part of the BJP's latest reshuffle.
Malviya congratulated Mhaskey and the newly appointed office-bearers, saying their appointments came at an important juncture as the party seeks to expand its organisational reach and strengthen its messaging across the country.
"Their appointments come at a crucial juncture as the party prepares to scale newer heights and take its message and organisation to every corner of the country," Malviya said in a post on X.
The BJP's organisational revamp includes changes across its social media, media and other key departments.
